Who am I?

My name is Cathrie Yuen. I am a choral artist based in Vancouver, Canada. I was born and raised in Hong Kong, where I began my music education as a child. Similar to many of my peers, I finished business school in University to fulfill my family’s expectations. Sooner than I thought, I was fed up with an office job climbing the corporate ladder. I decided to quit my job, hopped on a plane, and pursued my dream of becoming a musician.

Why Choral Music?

My love towards choral music sparked when I started singing in a church choir. I enjoy moments when a choir take their first breath together. I would always submerge myself in the beautiful harmony. Most importantly, I value the unique bond among the communities that built through choral music, and I am committed to foster the sense of community in every choir I am involved in. In addition, I am an advocate of cultural diversity, and representation of the BIPOC community through choral music.
